The Problem
The Camera Caught the Hood.
Not Who Was Inside It.

Every dealership has cameras. Every car has a VIN. Neither answers the only question that matters when a vehicle disappears: who was actually there, and where did it go?

Surveillance footage shows a hooded figure. License plates get swapped within minutes. VIN plates get cloned. Catalytic converters get cut off in 90 seconds. By the time a stolen vehicle resurfaces three states later under a new title, there is no evidence trail left to prosecute or recover.

The Solution
Every Car Remembers
Who Stood Next to It.

Ten color-matched nodes installed at PDI in placement zones the dealer selects. Each carries a UV-reactive QR code invisible in normal light. Hit it with a UV flashlight and the code resolves to the registered owner and account number.

Every disturbance triggers a proximity scan that logs every Bluetooth and Wi-Fi device within ten feet. MAC address. Signal strength. Timestamp. Encrypted and uploaded over cellular. Independent of the vehicle's network and the customer's phone.

A
Hidden everywhere
Engine bay. Dashboard. Door panel. Trunk liner. Spare tire well. Color-matched, no checklist anyone can Google.
B
UV ownership verification
Any officer, salvage operator, or DMV inspector with a UV light verifies ownership in five seconds.
C
Forensic proximity log
Every disturbance event records the device cluster present. Evidence on every claim.
D
Free lifetime replacement
Failed, damaged, or missing nodes replaced free for the life of the active subscription.
The Node Ecosystem
Ten Nodes. Hidden
Throughout the Vehicle.

Nodes placed at dealer PDI create an invisible mesh inside the vehicle. Every entry, every disturbance is logged. The hub plugs into a USB outlet. No customer interaction required.

Placement Guide
8 Spots That Cover Every Vehicle

Strategic node placement ensures full coverage from bumper to bumper. Each node is color-matched to the interior or exterior surface so it disappears against plastic, leather, carpet, or sheet metal.

E
Engine Bay
Against the firewall under the hood. First place a chop shop strips for parts.
G
Glovebox
Inside the glovebox panel. Logs every device when the cabin is searched.
A
Dashboard
Behind the gauge cluster or HVAC vent trim. Protected from weather and tampering.
D
Driver Door Panel
Inside the door cavity. First proximity reading of any entry event.
R
Rear Under-Seat
Behind the rear seat mount bracket. Logs back-seat passengers on recovery.
T
Trunk Liner
Behind the carpeted side panel. Logs activity when the trunk is opened.
S
Spare Tire Well
Under the spare or inside the well lining. Almost never inspected.
W
Wheel Well Liner
Inside the plastic fender liner. A thief never expects a tracker there.

The Same System
That Recovers Thefts
Recovers Repos.

Every vehicle you finance in-house or through a partner lender already has ten hidden tracking nodes installed and paid for by the customer. When a customer goes delinquent, no separate GPS install, no separate skip-tracer, no separate repo agent retainer.

Log into the Digital Tripwire dealer portal. Locate the vehicle. Coordinate recovery. Standard industry disclosure in the financing documents, the way OnStar and every factory telematics service operate.

No separate hardware install. The same nodes already in the vehicle do the work.
No monthly per-vehicle GPS fee. The customer pays the subscription.
Higher recovery rates. Industry benchmarks show GPS-equipped recovery at 85 to 90 percent versus 50 to 60 percent without.
Standard disclosure. Template financing language reviewed by automotive finance counsel.

Common Questions
Common Questions
How are the nodes installed?+
At dealer PDI. A trained technician places ten color-matched nodes in the placement zones the dealer selects for the vehicle make. The hub plugs into a dashboard USB outlet. Typical install time is 20 to 30 minutes per vehicle, performed alongside standard pre-delivery inspection.
What if a customer cancels the subscription?+
The hidden nodes remain in the vehicle and the UV-QR ownership records remain in the database. Active monitoring, proximity log retrieval, and free hardware replacement end with the subscription. The customer can reactivate at any time.
What happens on a trade-in?+
The system supports owner transfer. New owner registers to their Digital Tripwire account, hardware stays in the vehicle, subscription transfers or restarts under the new owner. Used vehicles with existing Digital Tripwire nodes have a natural F&I close: the vehicle already has the system, just activate it under your name.
Who handles theft recovery calls?+
Digital Tripwire operates the recovery coordination workflow on the customer's behalf. The dealer is not in the recovery business. When a customer reports a theft through the app, our team generates the forensic evidence package for the insurance carrier and law enforcement. Dealers get notified when a vehicle they sold is recovered.
What is the disclosure requirement for the repo use case?+
Standard industry disclosure in the financing documents, identical in structure to the language used for OnStar, factory telematics, and any GPS-enabled financing product. We provide template language reviewed by automotive finance counsel. Customers always know what the device does at the time of purchase.
What if a thief finds and removes one of the nodes?+
The system detects when any node goes silent and flags it as a tamper event in the customer's account. With ten nodes hidden in different locations, a thief would need to find and disable every single one to fully neutralize the system. The remaining nodes continue logging proximity events and the UV-QR identity codes remain intact in the database.
